Two brothers rooted in Chasselas, crafting organic Burgundy and Beaujolais wines shaped by terroir and family heritage.

The story

Rooted in Chasselas since the mid-20th century, the Pacaud family has passed its vineyard craft from grandparents to father and now to brothers Julien and Sébastien. Julien brings a scientific background in agronomy and environmental biology, guiding the domaine’s understanding of soils and vine ecology. Sébastien, after years in wine marketing, joined him to strengthen the estate’s vision and expand its reach. Today, their 13 hectares stretch across the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, always with the village of Chasselas at the centre of their identity.

In the vineyard

The brothers farm with a deep respect for living soils and local biodiversity, adapting their work to the needs of each parcel. Methods include grass cover, light tilling, horse-ploughing where beneficial, and thoughtful management of hedgerows and woodland edges. Their goal is to preserve balanced ecosystems that allow the vines to express the nuances of their terroirs. The estate has been transitioning to organic farming since 2019, with full certification from the 2022 vintage onward.

The wines

Pacaud Vignerons produces a range of southern Burgundy and Beaujolais wines, including Pouilly-Fuissé (with a Premier Cru), Pouilly-Loché, Saint-Véran, Bourgogne Blanc, Beaujolais Blanc, and Saint-Amour. Whites undergo direct pressing, reds ferment semi-carbonically without added sulfur, and all cuvées ferment with native yeasts. Aging takes place in stainless steel or oak, depending on the character of each wine.
